Are business cards dead?

It all depends on what you’re doing with your business card. Think of it like that special festive angpau you sometimes come across and you would stash it in your collection. Generic business cards may lose general appeal and get tossed out like a supermarket flyer. But in the environment of scarcity, unique business cards make an even greater impression.

In this project for a design + build firm, we have emphasized on material usage to highlight the value of the firm in focusing on material details.

Engage the senses.

A good print design always intrigue the senses in ways more than one. In this namecard design, we have attempted to do a very unusual finish. Odd size. Complex diecut (yes, a square of certain sizes and material can be exceptionally difficult to achieve). Different materials with different textures and colours on each side.

Aside from playing with materials, we had a subtle play on shapes with a triangular layout used for the Chinese characters while utilizing a fairly rounded typeface for the main logo to balance out the squarish forms of the physical card.
